Showcasing the beauty of Showa Koi: Sumi Development from August 2023 to January 2024 in Pictures

If you're a koi keeper who loves to see colour and pattern development then Showa is a koi variety probably high up on your favourites list.

We've been breeding Showa since 2018, and sumi development is what I find most interesting.

We have a dozen showa at £65 each listed on the website which were photographed in August 2023, and almost all have seen significant sumi development through this winter - which is their second winter.

The beni has also thickened up too!

(Koi purchased over the winter can be left at Byer Koi Farm until the spring at no extra charge, and then shipped or collected.)
