Koshiji Autumn Harvest — Online Koi Release, Friday 16th October at 8pm
We’re harvesting more ponds here at Byer Koi Farm as the autumn harvest continues. This part of the harvest focuses mainly on Japanese koi, and we’ve started with Koshiji.
A selection from this week’s harvest will be available online on Friday 16th October at 8pm. We’ll be sharing previews ahead of the release and updating this page as more footage becomes available.
A favourite Japanese breeder
Koshiji is a farm we love, and I had a very successful visit there when I was in Japan last year. This week’s harvest includes some of their classics, including Doitsu Metallic Ochiba and Doitsu Gosanke.
The farm is known for its Doitsu and metallic varieties, alongside Showa and Goshiki. For us, the Doitsu Metallic Ochiba have a particular significance: koi from Koshiji form a key part of our own brood fish sets, contributing to our breeding here at Byer Koi Farm.
It’s been good to see how these Japanese koi have developed over the summer, and we’re looking forward to sharing the selection with you.

As usual, a full catalogue will be available ahead of the release so you can look through the koi and pick out your favourites. We expect the catalogue to be ready on Friday, and we’ll add the link here when it’s available.
Friday’s release
The koi will go live in our online shop at 8pm on Friday 16th October, with sales on a first-come, first-served basis.
