Late season fry: Update
We have a short update for you on our late season fry.
Round 2 fry is shipping this week and next, and this round is made up of fry from two spawnings; namely, Shusui and Ki Utsuri with most of the Ki Utsuri spawning delivering Karashigoi. These fry are at the 6-8 week old point, and we've stopped taking orders to make sure we have sufficient stock for the committed volume. Once that's shipped this week, we will know if we have additional volume that we can make available next week.
In Round 3, we spawned our huge 105cm chagoi female parent that we call Oakly. The spawning has gone very well and the fry are approaching 3 weeks old now. Fry from Oakly are extremely special and, because the chagoi she produces have particularly good growth potential and the best ones also have lovely colour and vignette (black outline) around the edge of the scales.
This year we've decided to sell the fry at 3-4 week old, and... unselected. So this represents a special opportunity for our customers to obtain unselected fry from one of our most well known breeding females.

Here's a video of a sample of the fry right now. Shipping will be in the first week of October, with delivery day options being either Wednesday 2nd or Friday 4th. By that time, these fry will have been growing for another week.
The youngest we sell fry is 2-3 week old,. When we ship the Oakly fry at 3-4 week old they will be a little larger and more robust. But they will still be a much greater challenge than the standard 6-8 week fry. So they are recommended for experienced fry rearers only.
In round 3 we also spawned Kin Ki Utsuri, and they are coming along very well. We will make some of those available at 6-8 week old and that will be early November.
