Japanese Tosai Sanke – Preview Videos

This Friday evening we’ll be releasing a group of Japanese Tosai Sanke from Izumiya.

Sanke is not a variety we currently breed ourselves at Byer Koi Farm. So, when we want to offer Sanke, we need to bring them in from Japan.

I selected this batch from Izumiya and there are 35 koi in the release, mostly sitting around 23–28cm.

They are not all identical in style, and that’s part of the interest. Some are more finished-looking now, with the sumi already showing clearly. Others are younger-looking koi, where the sumi is still coming through and the pattern may change quite a bit as they develop.

That is very much the nature of buying young Sanke.

What I particularly like about the batch is the overall quality level. There is some nice skin, some pleasing beni, and enough variation across the group to make the selection interesting.

For this release, we’ve decided to keep the pricing simple.
All 35 koi will be £125 each.

They’ll go live on the website at 8pm on Friday evening.
