The Descent – Sunday Evening at Byer Koi Farm
Tomorrow evening, we’ll be trying something completely new at Byer Koi Farm.
Over the past week, we’ve gone back through a selection of older individual koi listings — mainly koi originally listed last summer and earlier — and selected around 40 koi to enter a special one-evening event called:
The Descent
The event currently includes:
- 12 koi originally listed at £75
- 28 koi originally listed at £125
- 2 larger nisai originally listed at £345
Beginning at 7pm on Sunday evening, the prices of the selected koi will progressively reduce throughout the first hour of the event.
Some koi may sell quickly.
Others may continue descending further.
Buyers will need to decide whether to secure a koi early, or wait and risk another customer purchasing it first.
Importantly, not all koi will descend equally far.
Each koi has its own final event price, and once that final price is reached, it will stop reducing.
The Descent – 7pm to 8pm
During the first hour of the event, prices on the selected koi will reduce every 10 minutes.
Customers may need to refresh the page to view the latest prices during the event.
Some koi may sell quickly.
Others may continue descending further.
Buyers will need to decide whether to secure a koi early, or wait and risk another customer purchasing it first.

Each koi has its own final event price, and once that final price is reached, it will stop reducing.
Price Reduction Schedule
7:00pm – First reductions go live
7:10pm – Second reductions
7:20pm – Third reductions
7:30pm – Fourth reductions
7:40pm – Fifth reductions
7:50pm – Sixth reductions
8:00pm – Final event prices reached
Customers may need to refresh the page after each price reduction to view the latest prices during the event.
Final Window – 8pm to Midnight
From 8pm onwards, all remaining koi will remain available at their final event prices until midnight.
Once the event ends at midnight, any remaining koi will be removed from The Descent and withdrawn from the website.
Important Information
- The event applies only to koi tagged within The Descent
- Prices will update every 10 minutes between 7pm and 8pm
- All sales are strictly first come, first served
- A koi is only secured once checkout is completed
- We will not be placing koi on hold during the event
- Remaining koi will stay at their final event prices until midnight
- At midnight, all remaining koi will be removed from The Descent
We’ve included a mixture of tosai and nisai within the event, including some koi that have quietly sat in the background for many months, alongside a handful of koi that we suspect may not remain available for very long once The Descent begins.
