Showa

Showa is a variety we started to test out last year; I bought 3 females and 3 males from some of the most notable showa breeders in Japan, and was able to produce samples from 2 of the females last year.

Those spawnings gave us some nice individual showa but overall, this year's spawning with our LMC female is a much better batch.

Showa development from fry is a notoriously difficult topic.. And despite our 2019 showa spawning being very young and just an inch long, I've photographed a few that caught my eye in the hope we can spot them again at the next selection.
