Rare Koi for Sale Online: Doitsu Goshiki, Tancho Sanke, Ginrin Showa & More This Week

There are many highlights in this week's online koi release, and here are just a few of them which are particularly worthy of a mention.

Doitsu Goshiki, Kase
Kase is renowned for producing Goshiki with deep, stable beni and clean robing patterns, making them sought-after.  Doitsu varieties have been trending among collectors in the past year due to their clean, scaleless appearance and bold contrast. Doitsu Goshiki in particular is a variety in vogue right now, and we have a stunning example in this week's online release.  This Doitsu Goshiki has a lovely beni (red) pattern and the red colour is a good quality too. The background is developing the Goshiki robing at around the right rate for the age of this koi, and we'd expect the background to become darker over time.  Leaving the red pattern as a highlight against the dark background.

Tancho Sanke, Marudo

A round and centred tancho spot on the head.  With a broad head and strong body.  And with the sumi starting to develop on the back too.  This promises to be an excellent koi to watch develop over the next few years.  And should become an imposing fish in anyone's pond!

Ginrin Showa, Shinoda

Shinoda is one of a few go to farms for Ginrin Showa, and this example has fantastic gin rin scales across the body plus a vibrant beni (red) pattern and sumi (black) developing in neat offset bands across the body.  The menware (black pattern on the head) coming down the centre of the head is a very desirable trait on any of the utsuri types of koi. A really good example.  For a detailed analysis of the showa variety, please see our Showa Variety Spotlight guide

Doitsu Sanke, Shinoda

Sanke is known for the small sumi (black) pattern that develops on a koi's back, and this koi demonstrates that really well.  Particularly with the first of the black 'stepping stones' being located on the koi's shoulder, and on this koi, it opposes red on the other shoulder.  A very desirable feature.

Doitsu Kohaku, Shinoda

Fantastic beni (red) quality, and a particularly pleasing pattern.  The bright white background helps to make this koi stand out.  A wonderful example.

Hi Utsuri, Shinoda

We have some larger tosai Hi Utsuri in the koi shop, and are releasing 4 of them online this week.  This example has a great balance between the colours and an interesting head pattern with the sumi (black) running down the centre of the head, dividing the head.
