BKF Bred Tosai Coming This Friday — Plus Bank Holiday Opening

Interest in our koi this spring has been fantastic, and we are genuinely grateful for the response.

We have had lots of visitors making use of our public opening hours each weekend, and it has been lovely to see so many people here at the farm, choosing koi in person and talking through their ponds with us.

As a reminder, we are currently open:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday — 10am to 5pm

And, as this weekend is a bank holiday weekend, we will also be open on:

Bank Holiday Monday — 10am to 5pm

A busy week behind the scenes

The operational side of the week has once again kept us very busy.

Alongside serving customers, caring for the koi, preparing orders and keeping the shop stocked, we are also getting very close to the start of our 2026 spawnings.

Each week, more preparation jobs are being ticked off the list, and the breeding side of the farm is now coming into focus very quickly.

Balancing all of these priorities is always tricky, but that is koi farming. There is never just one job happening at once, and there is always something else waiting to be done.

But we love it — and this is the time of year when all of those different strands of the farm start to come together.

This week’s Friday night release

From today, our focus switches towards preparing another range of koi for our now-anticipated Friday night online koi release.

This week, we are aiming for a BKF bred tosai release, built around individually selected koi at our £75 and £125 price points.

These are BKF bred tosai that have stood out through our grading process, and which we feel are right to offer now as individual koi.

They will be photographed, videoed and listed individually, so you can see each koi properly before choosing.

Initial footage now available

We have started with some initial footage showing a sample of the koi being prepared for this week’s release, and we will add more as the week progresses.

As usual, the aim is to give you a proper preview before Friday night, so you can see the style, quality and range of koi being made available.

The release is planned for:

Friday at 8pm

The best way to view the new koi once they go live is to visit the individual koi for sale page and sort by newest first.

We will continue cataloguing through the week and will share further previews as we get closer to Friday evening.
